The Story of the England Supporters’ Band by John Hemmingham acquired by Peakpublish
Following last night’s match at Wembley, when England successfully qualified for the World Cup in South Africa 2010, by beating Croatia 5-1, Peakpublish are more than pleased to announce that world rights have been obtained for a two book deal on 'The Life and Times of the England Supporters’ Band,’ from John Hemmingham. There cannot be a football fan in England who hasn't heard, sung or danced along to the tunes of the band before, during or after a match. They started playing for Sheffield Wednesday in 1993. John was asked by the FA, in 1996, if they would play for England and have missed only 3 friendly games. This inspirational band, aged between 10 and 80, play with passion in support of their country. The band have now played for England more times than Beckham, Charlton, Moore or Shilton! The band have now visited around 59 countries all with a story of passion, fun, mischief, friendship, rivalry, tight scrapes and narrow escapes (but mainly passion and fun). The passion remains and this is their story........ John Hemmingham, the founder of the band, says, 'Our dream now is to play for England right through to the World Cup Final.' Richard Branson closed their first chart making record deal and they will be making another recording for the 2010 World Cup. They have made numerous TV appearances including Richard and Judy, They Think It’s All Over, etc.. Geraldine Rose, of Peakpublish, said, 'The band have hundreds of tales from around the world whilst having great fun playing for the England Team and we are really pleased to be publishing this book so that everyone can enjoy their stories.' Peakpublish has the world rights and it will be published in the UK in Spring 2010. ‘The Story of the England Supporters’ Band’ by John Hemmingham is to be published in the Spring 2010 and the second book will be published following the World Cup 2010.
