Press Release

Peakpublish acquires ‘I Hate Football’ - the memoir of a football fan.

Memoir of a passionate Sheffield Wednesday football fan ‘I Hate Football’ by debut author, John Firth, has been acquired by Peakpublish.

The book centres around a group of fans who follow the clubs fortunes through thick and thin (mostly thin) since the early 70’s and takes the reader along the roller coaster of emotions that most fans endure as well as recounting many frightening, hilarious and down right bizarre incidents that occurred on their travels.

Publisher Geraldine Rose says, "It is the autobiography of almost every football fan in the country and we are delighted to be publishing this. It combines the passion of a football fan with a wonderfully nostalgic insight of how the game was.".

The author John Firth says, "I have spent the last 4 decades following the club and it has taken me two years to write the book. It is easy to support a successful football team, but it takes guts, loyalty and a whole heap of stupidity to follow one of the also rans."

Peakpublish has the world rights and it will be published in the UK in summer/autumn 2009.
